COMMISSION PROCESS

Commissioning a mural is an easy process. Listed below are the basic steps to commissioning.

1. Osiris meets with the client to discuss ideas and themes, location of mural/fresco, architecture of building, etc.
2. Osiris composes rough sketches for review.
3. Osiris begins the mural process.

Frescoes

Frescoes require 6 to 9 months to complete. This time line begins upon signing of the contract. Frescoes are on site works and are permanent, unless conducted on smaller moveable panels. They require a team of craftsmen and have an elaborate onsite set up. One advantage of fresco is that it allows the public to see the process Osiris at work. Frescoes generate wide community interest and are great for drawing people in to your facility. When working on frescoes it is essential that Osiris be in close contact with the architects. Proper preparation of the wall is critical and must be decided on before the building is built, or structured later as part of the process.

Oils

Oil murals require from 4 to 6 months to complete. Oils are easily moved and can be relocated if necessary. Oils are executed in Osiris's studio and do not require the elaborate setup that frescoes need. They are an easy option for the client who wants no onsite mess. Oils are transported to their destination and easily placed on the wall.

Costs

Cost is based on the square footage of the wall, the complexity of the picture, and the number of assistants required (in the case of fresco). Oils are less expensive because there is no need for assistants, travel or lodging expenses. There is a small fee for the production of proposal sketches which is 5% percent of the estimated project cost.
Fresco’s start at 500.00 USD per square foot.
Murals start at 250.00 USD per square foot.
* Only projects 20 square foot or larger will be considered.
