OSIRIS RAIN
I believe that as a painter it is my duty to bring dignity and beauty to mankind, to elevate, and exult the human condition. Every tear and sorrow, every joy and laughter, is a reason to celebrate the everyday as unique. I believe the best way to achieve this is through the representation of recognizable situations, figures, and emotions that resonate through time and space, that all of humanity can relate to in camaraderie, from the rich to the poor, from the educated to the non-educated. Through my paintings I seek to bring people together, and to help them realize that there is not so much difference between us.
Osiris Rain (b-1986) has studied extensively in Florence, Italy at the Angel Academy of Art under Maestro Michael John Angel, and later with Odd Nerdrum in Stavern, Norway. In addition he has spent time with Steven Assael, Jacob Collins, and Jeffrey Mimms. He has studied and copied paintings at the Uffizi Gallery, Florence, Italy, The Louvre, Paris, and the Metropolitan in NYC amongst others. He has exhibited in North Carolina, Canada, Italy, France, and Norway. Collected internationally, His works hang in both private and public collections in Italy, France, Norway, Iceland, Canada, Australia and the United States. He is the founder and instructor of L'ecole de l'Oeil Ouvert in Lansing, NC and is a lifetime member of the Moving Poets International Theatre of Dance. He is an avid writer and often displays his writings and poetry together with the exhibitions of his paintings.
